Commentary:
W.T. Cosgrave was head of the Irish Government that instigated the Doegen scheme in
1926. This short speech by him was captured on 5 September 1928 during the scheme's
first week of recordings, which took place in University College Cork. In it he makes
passing reference to the Kellogg-Briand Pact, signed in Paris on 27 August 1928.
