Bronze Age, faceted socketed axehead, HCA 307
This is a socketed, faceted and looped axehead (L 11.6cm). It is sub-rectangular in cross section and the mouth is slightly irregular and flared open. The axe has a flared convex cutting edge which is bevelled and polished. Three parallel longitudinal ribs run from the edge of the mouth to just over half way towards the blade edge.
