Erinnerungsstücke eines Landsturmmannes aus Sylt
H. Dreyer in the German Home Guard was posted to Sylt, wrote some patriotic poetry and had a nephew later in a P.O.W. camp in Ripon/Yorkshire.
Hinnerk Dreyer from Kiel was the grandfather of the participant's wife. Hinnerk Dreyer was deployed as a Landsturmmann on Sylt. Attached is a picture of Hinnerk Dreyer with his son; a newspaper clipping with a patriotic poem he wrote; a letter opener with shrapnel and a postcard with a poem and a drawing from Sylt, which he sent to his nephew Johannes (Hanne) Schmidt in June 1918.
