The prisoners of war in the Hamelin camp, as in other prisoner of war camps, were connected to their homeland in two different ways. On the one hand, groups from the International Red Cross came regularly to inspect the camp, and on the other hand, the postal service to the relatives was organized with the help of the Red Cross.
