Foto of Nic Penning, 1914
Story passed down by Leonie Mangers-Penning: Her brother Nic Penning from Wahl, Luxembourg, had joined the service of a doctor in Nancy in 1914 as a driver. In the first days of the war both went to the front, came under fire and were fatally injured. Nic Penning was buried in the doctor's family plot in Nancy. The postcard shows Nic Penning next to his De Dion Boutton company car.
