Rudolf-Oskar Kranz, an uncle of Max Kranz (see further articles on Max Kranz) was a merchant and druggist in Cologne - Lindenthal, Dürener Straße 146. His wife Emma, née Schulte Werning from Dutum near Rheine in Westphalia, was involved in the World War in the care of the sick and wounded. The photo shows her peeling potatoes in front of a hospital in Cologne.
