Entrance of shop, Ostia
West doorjamb of a shop facing the N side of the decumanus in Ostia (III, VI, 1-3); beginning of the 2nd century AD. The masonry, in opus mixtum, has been extensively refurbished in ancient times. The panel in reticulatum appears much damaged (it is uncertain whether this occurred naturally, over time). At the forefront, remains of a travertine block which formed the shop threshold.
