Underside of the crustacean Cycleryon propinquus
Underside of the crustacean Cycleryon propinquus
Cycleryon was a crustacean that lived on the sea floor. The large stalked eyes indicate that the animal used to burrow itself in the mud. The swimming legs at the abdomen are rather weak, but Cycleryon had strong legs for walking. Modern relatives live on soft marine soils or in ecological niches with many hiding places.
