Clitambonites squamatus
Clitambonites squamatus (Pahlen, 1877)
Clitambonites squamatus, fossil brachiopod from fossiliferous Ordovicain oil-shale beds. Brachiopods are small marine invertebrates with mostly calcitic or phosphatic hard valves. The group was highly diverse and numerous during Early Palaeozoic. From Early Palaeozoic sedimentary rocks of Estonia nearly 300 species of brachiopods have been described.
