Hairring for wig made of agate
According to Lucas (1962) first the rough form was obtained by chipping, then the piece of agate was rolled between stones into a slightly round shape. This was followed by polishing. The hole was made using a drill, probably with a hollow cylindrical point. Agate or quartz grit was probably used as a grinding material. A small segment was then sawn away.
