A pair of shoes
These Sami shoes probably belonged to a woman. They are made of reindeer fur. Originally, the shoes had a hand-woven band to tie them shut. The shoes have distinctive, raised noses. Ceramic women wear reindeer fur leggings over their shoes, which reach down to the thighs and close around the shoes. The Samen fill their shoes with dried senna grass.
