Batik pattern: Parang pakis
This batiked pattern is called Parang pakis, the machetes with fern motifs. The pattern consists of oblique rows of pointed brown leaves with blue edges. These slanted rows are separated by white S-shaped figures. The border is called Upan-upan, like grains of rice. This pattern was worn by the monarch, the monarchess and the children of the monarch with the monarch.
