Marseille, capital of European culture:
Marseille was chosen as the capital of European culture in 2013. This is a title given annually by the European Union to a city famous for its culture or arts that reflects its history. This year, Marseille and the Provence region, along with the Slovenian city of Koč, were chosen to be the capitals of European culture. Marseille is famous for street art, skiing, hip-hop and surfing.
