The dyeing of the red shirts of Garibaldi

In the 150th year of the unification of Italy also the dyeing of scarlet, where in 1960 the red shirts of Garibaldi were dyed, was chosen as one of the places of the hearts of Italians. The dye is in Gandino (Bergamo) in Val Siriana. The scarlet was obtained thanks to the cochineal.
