- Nicolae Ionescu (1903 – 1975), unul dintre cei mai cunoscuti fotografi din perioada interbelică, a documentat întreaga Românie prin fotografii - document dedicate “micului Paris” (Bucureștiul anilor ’20-’30) și vieții satului românesc (peisaje, arhitectură, ocupații, tradiții, obiceiuri). Date biografice: Primul Război Mondial-întrerupe studiile și lucrează la mari tipografii (Fortuna, Tipografia Ordinului Masonic Român, Minerva, Cultura Națională) unde cunoaște importanți oameni politici și de cultură; din 1927 conduce Serviciul Fotografic al Armatei Regale și lucrează în întreaga țară pentru proiectul său: "Muzeul de fotografie al României”; 1930: se perfecționează în Franța - Uzinele Lumiere (Lyon), Pathe Nathan (Paris); 1937: pentru promovarea frumuseților țării înființează colecția “Enciclopedia Fotografică Română”; 1945- 1947: inițiază și conduce editura “Enciclopedia fotografică” - publică 67 de titluri; în timpul regimului legionr și al celui comunist, considerat persona non grata, lucrează pentru a se întreține ca fotograf la diferite reviste și la Institutul de Istoria Artei (1956 – 1962); premii: premiul II la Expoziția de fotografie ONT (1936), placheta de bronz la Expoziția Internațională de Fotografie (Bordeaux, 1957). O parte a materialului fotografic realizat pentru “Muzeul de fotografie al României”, se păstrează la Cabinetul de Stampe al Bibliotecii Academiei Române.
