Premonstratensian Provostship in Ócsa

SERIES TITLE: Churches from the Árpád Age

The former Premonstratensian Provostship in Ócsa was probably established in the beginning of the 13th century in late Roman - early Gothic style and consecrated in honour of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The style of the church was greatly influenced by that of the royal chapel in Esztergom, the three-nave, transept basilica was the artwork of the king’s stonemasons worked in Esztergom.
