Verdun – Visions d’histoire

The German troops are about to take over Verdun. The alarm is raised. The French soldier is quietly waiting for the assault. People are evacuated. The wife is torn away from her husband who stays to defend the land, the same land that the peasant refuses to leave. The German offensive begins on the 21st of February 1916. The Germans strike on the woods of Caures after ten hours of bombing.
