Chasse or House-shaped Reliquary

This is a chasse or reliquary box in bronze from the late 13th Century. It is house-shaped with the lid and body hinged together. There are suspension rings at each end for suspension from the neck. It is decorated with engraved foliate tendrils. German or Austrian.

Medieval. Material: Bronze. Accession no: HCM 082.
