Incised-groove Vase Food Vessel, HCA 609
This is a type of Early Bronze Age vessel called ‘Food Vessels’. Known as a Vase Food Vessel this pot has an angular profile and is decorated entirely with incised grooving. A herringbone motif rings the internal rim and the external decoration is zoned. There is a vertical ladder pattern on the rim/neck; a band of alternate vertical and horizontal panels on the shoulder with a herringbone design …
