Pierre Simonet, the father of Odile Thévenot, née Simonet, wrote his memoirs in which he included the travel diary of his father, Albert dit Maurice Simonet. Pierre collected information from a small notebook written by his father from his mobilization in August 1914 until his capture by the Germans on November 25, 1914.
