Hook, hedging
This hedging or ‘hewing’ hook was made by Finch Brothers of Sticklepath, Devon, circa 1945–6. It has a curved blade, stamped ‘Finch Bros’, and a wooden handle which is shaped at the end to fit over the back of the hand. The hook is part of a large collection of traditional craft products acquired from the British Council in 1960.
