Silver cabinet
The young cabinetmaker Jan Hillebrand displayed this Gothic Revival cabinet as a showpiece at the 1844 exhibition of decorative arts in Leeuwarden. His ambition was rewarded, for the cabinet was purchased by King William II, who had become a fan of the Gothic Revival style while studying in England.
