A la mémoire de Jean-Joseph ASTIER
To the memory of Jean-Joseph Astier
My uncle Jean-Joseph Vital ASTIER, born on February 16, 1895 in Cheylard-L'Evêque (48), mobilized in 1914, soldier in the 49th battalion of chasseurs, was wounded on March 11, 1916 in Fleury, near Verdun, then fought in the Somme where he was killed by the enemy on August 20, 1918 at the age of 23. Jean-Joseph ASTIER was decorated with the Croix de Guerre. The place of his burial remains unknown.
