Quilted bedcover
This bedcover bears the arms of the city of Amsterdam in its centre and the four corners. Mentions of chintz with heraldic decoration occur already in the 17th century, but the fashion became more commonplace in the 18th. Indian weavers and painters, particularly on the southern Coromandel Coast, made products for the VOC.
