Long-tailed Tit (Aegithalos caudatus) from Zăuan
This little songbird is one of the protected, Natura 2000 species. It occurs all year in deciduous forest, but also in parks and hedges. Outside the breeding season they form compact flocks of 20 birds, These flocks initially split into breeding pairs in the spring to raise young, but failed pairs often join other, usually related, pair to help provide for young.
