The 7th Session of the USSR Supreme Soviet
The formal incorporation of Latvia into the USSR took place during the 7th session of the USSR Supreme Soviet at the Kremlin in Moscow, 5 August 1940. The Acting President and Prime Minister of Latvian SSR August Kirhenstein (Augusts Kirhenšteins) asks the Supreme Soviet of the USSR to admit Latvia into the Soviet.
