Veszprém County the central part of the county is occupied by the Bakony Mountains, in the south the northern shore of Lake Balaton can be found, the Balaton Uplands and the Keszthely Mountains surround two basins of Mediterranean climate, the basins Tapolca and Káli. Kisalföld Plain extends deeply into the county's northern part.
