C. H. and F.W. Kleukens both were members of the artist's colony in Darmstadt. During the war they contributed to diverse printing products of the 50th Infantry Div. in France: Trench newspapers, illustrations, e.g. a menu card 2nd Feb. 1918, St. Chimay.
Christian Heinrich Kleukens was a graphic artist and printer. As a lieutenant and orderly officer, he had the opportunity to work in his original job during wartime operations, he worked in the divisional printing shop of the 50th Infantry Division.
