Spade, rabbiting
This is the head of a rabbiting spade, used for digging dogs out when rabbiting. It consists of a long, tapering steel blade, and has a flattened section with a hole, rather than a socket, for attaching to a handle. It was made by Finch Brothers of Sticklepath, Devon, circa 1945–6, and is part of a large collection of traditional craft products acquired from the British Council in 1960.
