SERIES TITLE: Zeit im Bild (News)
For a long time animal rights activists have criticized Austrian laws on animal transport. The law actually enables carriage of animals via trucks for more than 60 hours. Recently, the police could stop a vehicle that had carried animals for more than 64 hours from Estonia to Salzburg. The Austrian health minister, Andrea Kdolsky, is now working on a new law on animal transportation.
