Pointed Hat
The combination of red felt and astrakhan fur is reminiscent of the papakhas (astrakhan fur hats) worn by the Cossacks. In addition, the pointed crown and the soutache (narrow, round-edged braid) decoration reflect folkloristic influences. This hat is difficult to date because astrakhan trim was fashionable both in the mid-1930s as well as around 1950.
